Brisbane Lions star Lachie Neale is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines as he recovers from an ankle injury.
The Brisbane Lions’ AFL premiership hopes have suffered a major blow, with Brownlow Medallist Lachie Neale to be sidelined for eight weeks with an ankle injury.
Neale will have surgery to repair a syndesmosis injury he suffered in Brisbane’s 18-point weekend win over Carlton at Marvel Stadium.
Neale’s effort to finish the match despite the injury has been described as inspirational by Lions football general manager Danny Daly.
Brisbane had already activated their injury substitute after Darcy Gardiner was injured early in the contest, leading to Neale’s decision to play through the pain.
