BOM radar Brisbane shows late autumn storms bringing heavy rain, possible hail to SE QLD
An unusual series of late autumn storms over south-east Queensland is bringing heavy rain and the potential for large hail.
A band of storms hit the region on Tuesday night, with Forestdale in Logan recording 51mm of rainfall in 30 minutes.
Brisbane City received 18mm overnight, according to the Bureau of Meteorology, while Boonah and Esk to the west are nearing 50mm in the past 24 hours.
The wet weather has continued on Wednesday morning and is expected to linger into the evening.
“We’re expecting more storms through, especially this morning and maybe into early this afternoon as well for Brisbane, and spreading out a little bit towards the Sunshine Coast and the Gold Coast,” BOM forecaster James Thompson told 7NEWS.com.au.
