Boy, 13, who drowned while swimming at Gold Coast’s Cedar Creek Falls identified

A boy found dead after he went missing while swimming at a Gold Coast waterfall has been identified as 13-year-old Aiden Braumann.

Aiden was swimming at the popular Cedar Creek Falls with a friend about 5pm on Thursday.

The pair were under adult supervision at the time, but both got into trouble after getting into the water, police said.

The friend made it back to shore, but Aiden failed to resurface.

His body was found in the water and retrieved by police divers and swift-water rescue crews about 10pm.

During his disappearance, his mother made a desperate plea for his safe return.
