Brisbane Airport confirms ‘breach’ after PNG travellers use bathroom, sit at cafe
Brisbane Airport has confirmed a green zone breach has occurred after two travellers who had arrived from Papua New Guinea entered an area used by those travelling to New Zealand.
On Monday morning, two transiting passengers arrived on a ‘red’ flight from Port Moresby and proceeded through screening to transit as per normal process.
Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC) said an initial review of available CCTV revealed the passengers had been “incorrectly allowed into the green zone” just before 10am.
The pair sat at a retail outlet in the International Terminal until about 11.20am, before using the bathroom and attending a second retailer with other passengers due to depart for New Zealand.
