Can Brisbane residents go to NSW? New COVID restrictions announced ahead of Easter

Queenslanders have been dealt good news ahead of Easter with Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk announcing that Brisbane’s lockdown will end earlier than expected.

“Easter is good to go,” Palaszczuk said before announcing that lockdown restrictions would end at midday on Thursday.

She said Queensland had met the requirements to lift the lockdown – that being no unlinked community transmission and widespread testing.

The single new case of community transmission on Thursday is “linked to one of the known clusters”, Palaszczuk said.

A record 34,711 people were tested in the past 24 hours, adding to the 33,000 tested the previous day.

“Thank you, thank you, thank you,” the premier said.
