National Reconciliation Week is our #ThrowbackThursday topic this week and we have an opportunity to look back at the last 20 years of reconciliation in Australia within the QAS. This year’s theme is ‘More than a word. Reconciliation takes action’.

Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities have been serviced by the Queensland ambulance since we became established in regional communities across this vast state. During that time, there have been many lessons learnt by our service, particularly a realisation that we need to service our Indigenous communities more intuitively, with greater cultural insight and consideration.
